We unite Americans across communities to strengthen self-governance, promote constitutional principles, and advocate for public policies that advance the general welfare.
As George Washington warned in his Farewell Address, the “spirit of party” can become the greatest threat to a free society—dividing citizens, weakening institutions, and eroding the common good.
Today, that warning is playing out in real time. As civic participation declines and citizens disengage, division deepens, trust erodes, and communities grow weaker. Many Americans feel disconnected from their role in self-government, unsure how to engage or where they fit.
Without civic virtue, moral clarity, and personal responsibility, the foundations of the Republic begin to weaken—and the promise of self-governance is put at risk.

Self-government requires engagement — in civic education, advocacy, service, and lawful public action. The time to act is now.
The Free People of America exists to restore the foundation of self-government by re-engaging citizens in the life of their communities and their country.
We unite Americans around shared principles—not factions—by promoting civic virtue, moral clarity, and personal responsibility. Through education, community-based programs, and lawful civic engagement, we equip individuals with the knowledge, structure, and opportunities to take meaningful action.
Our approach is simple and enduring:
Rebuilding a culture of engaged citizenship—one community at a time.

Self-government is not a spectator activity. It begins with citizens who choose to engage—informed, principled, and ready to contribute to the common good.

“Finally, an organization that's about civic engagement without the partisan baggage. This is what I've been looking for — citizens helping citizens.”
“The food resilience program addresses a real need. Instead of just talking about community, FPOA is actually building it from the ground up.”
“I appreciate an organization that takes civic education seriously. The crash courses on sovereignty and political philosophy are exactly what America needs.”

No. FPOA operates as a nonpartisan social welfare organization. We unite Americans around shared principles of liberty, responsibility, and self-governance rather than partisan division. We may engage in issue advocacy consistent with our 501(c)(4) status, but we do not exist to support or oppose any candidate.

The Good Food Program is FPOA's initiative to address food scarcity in Minnesota through community-driven food distribution, urban gardens, and nutrition education. We believe a real civic organization should provide tangible services — not just talk about community, but build it.
